Default Bad Fuel

Hello guys,

Just wanna ask on how to identify a bad fuel. I've heard that having bad fuel tends to be very difficult in terms of proper tuning of an engine. Is there other ways to determine a bad fuel other than my inability to properly tune an engine.. many thanks
