I run mine, for the most part, naked. The only real thing I do is after the cleaning process, I squirt a bit of White Lightning on them. WL is a bicycle chain, teflon based lube.

yeah mine are naked but they are said to not lost longer so i wanted to try boot and see how much it lowers maitnence. I like keepin my cars clean but lubing and relubing after everyday will get old lol.

These are the boots I use.

These work really great in the front as it's not a tight fit in the carrier.
I grease them up and never worry about them for awhile. The front center is the main shaft to watch as the angle can cause excessive wear.

mmmm diffrent colors to haha thanks Greg im ganna get black, pink, and blue haha im ganna taste the rainbow:lol:. Now one more question what causes the cvd to wear is it from dust gettin things gritty or is it from the constant motion at hight speeds and rough hits?

Thanks

Wear comes from constant motion without lubrication. Just add the dirt and it's like sandpaper.
I have done both methods such as grease and a dry lube and both work well but I think grease is the choice for me.

i have to say that i do use heat shrink but i make it longer and cut the eccess off to make a nice keen fit while still protecting the CVD.

i also bend the pin a little to keep the pin in the CVD and just replace when ever needed. never had a pin come out since doing this and the CVD runs very smooth.

Replace with the DCJ double-jointed front shaft to reduce the angular problem. I've never had mine fail, and I built it with this replacement part from the get-go.

I use these boots and work really well for me.

Also replaced front shaft with the double jointed one from HB and it works great.
