8ight T 2.0 RTR issue
I just bought the eight t 2.0 rtr the other day and I am having a problem. During the break in, the front left dogbone popped out of the outdrive cup. I got it back in ok, but today at the track, it did it again. My camber is almost -2, -1 more than suggested from factory. The left dogbone is right on the edge about to come out all the time, but the right one is in far enough that it's not even close to being a problem. I thought about shimming the cvd on the inside, but there is still not enough play there to matter. What could be causing this? I am at a loss. Here are some pics to show you what I am talking about.

And as an update, I replaced the cups today, but the left side is still close. It is noticeably closer to the edge that the right one. I think it will say in now, but not for long I can't imagine. It's still bad close.

Check your hinge pin , make sure its not bent. And your droop screws, make sure there in the arms? They do run close to the outside of the drive cups.

oh ok I found it in the manual. But how is droop adjusted? sounds like the same thing as ride height to me. And why would one side be different than the other? I'm sorry I am so ignorant. Just trying to learn. Thanks for the help.

There is a droop screw you tighten or loosen on my associated I assume the Losi is the same....

Droop limits the amount the shock can travel. You can adjust it by the grub screw located on the arms near the bulkhead.

if you race, i would take it to the track and ask someone for help. its hard to tell you over the net. or take it to your local hobby store and they should help/show you.

yea, I know it's tough. Thanks for trying though. I did screw in the droop screw a little and it evened out the locations of the cvds, but will having droop adjustment done to just one side affect the handling?

Put the car on a stand so the tires are off the ground. Measure the front shock from screw center on the arm to the nut center on the tower. Make the measurement the same on each side by adjusting the droop screws.

ok, I think I get it. The droop setting on each side should not matter. Who cares how many turns in the left is compared to the right....as long as the shocks are the same length? I think I got it

The settings won't be the same, but it shouldn't be 3 turns different either. Get the shocks to be about 110mm and you should be good to go. If you still have issue with the driveshafts after that, then check your hinge pins.

Popping driveshafts is a big hint of a bent hinge pin. Set the droop between 107-110mm first to make sure that's not the problem. If they're still popping or close to popping, check out the hinge pin.;)

my buddy has this same problem,
i cant imagine that even if ithe hinge pins were straight that it would be enough. they should'v made/ used longer cvd's in my oppinion (at least 4mm longer) that way this would not be an issue in the event of bent hinge pins during a race. my buddy's is even worse. whats odd is that its the same side!!

If the higne pins are ok, its has to be the droop.

if they are longer they would not provide enough room to for the suspension to travel.
