I don't really know the difference between the 2, they seem very similar. But i love my losi 8ight 2.0. Its the best rc i've ever owned, by far. I used to own traxxas vehicles and let me tell you there is a huge difference between the quality of traxxas and team losi.

the eight is race worthy i, wouldnt get a rc8 rtr inless your a smooth driver because i know they cant take much of a beating. but i can speak for the eight now they can take, a beating from not being a smooth driver .

1. the eight can take more of a beating, as for performance wise the rc8 and the eight are about the same

the rc8 has a more steering and takes , a smoother driver to be fast and someone who doesnt crash a lot.

2. the eight is aggresive and, reponsive and jumps pretty level and doesnt take a real smooth driver to be fast.

if your racing max speed isnt a big deal.
get a eight 2.0 not a eight 1.0 rtr, the 20 rtr comes with all you need and a .21 engine.

well I can tell you that either car is great as I have owned both, I've had the 2.0 rtr, the 1.0 and both of them to me were not really different driving wise but compare it to the rc8 and the losi is a lot more nuetral of a car great for me when I first started out driving 8th scale. but I switched back to associated with the rc8b and I tell you I love that car it feels more on point, it does feel a way more responsive in the handling department so in my opinion if its your first 8th scale go with the losi, but dont shut the awsome machine that associated has put out, good luck
