The HB D8 will blow the doors off the hyper on the track...

If he want's a truly complete rtr, look at the losi.

d8 as for many reasons yes u need equipment but rtr equpment never is good anyway and a d8time then is way more racer and parts friendly to an older buggy like hyper 7. The rtr servos and radio, engine wont last. better off going deep the first then spending it later because no matter what that hyper will end up for sale to buy a new buggy when u can get the d8 a good 2.4 radio good servos and engine and not have to worry about things going wrong a hyper rtr isnt race reliable, u can ask anyone whos bought rtr later on the buy a kit and all new stuff so the rtr is pointless!

Go with the d8,and the d8 is cheaper than 300 it's 269 i think on amainhobbies.com,and the hyper only cost 250 i think i saw it for on nitrohouse.com.Anyway just get the d8 because it handles way better than the hyper,stronger than the hyper and the parts are easier and cheaper to find.D8 all the way.

werks b5 200 bucks all the power u need werks b6 230 best for buggy of werks line, Alpha racing red head smooth all around power for 200(i think), alpha green head good bottom end power, alpha orange head good top end both green and orange at 210

cant go wrong for the prices and a sirio evo i came across not sure where but its 150 and sirio engines are pretty good aswell

also to star off go spektrum dx2.0 or airtronics mx3 i beleave there like 100 with reciver

and servos go hitech they are great at a great price

that setup will be fast no dought o yea and strap on some good aka shoes on that bad boy lol or proline

also dont go cheap and run it naked spend the extra 14 bucks on skidplates de sells them like 7 on amain for 3 rear skids and 7 for 1 front bumper/skidplate aka the skidbump

All straight from Amainhobbies.com

D8kit= 280

AKA Tires= 18.50 x2 = 37

Airtronics mx radio w/reciver= 100

Werks b5= 200

werks 2019/2057 either or= 95

DE rear skids= 6.79 rounded up tpo 7

DE bump skid same a skid plates= 7

Hitec HS-5745MG Digital Giant Scale Servo= 70 x2 = 140

Now for give me if my math is wrong lol i suck at mathe but ur

TOTAL IS= 866

yes its high but its the best setup on the market for a rally cheap price and prices can be cheaper than that, give or take but it will out last and out do a hyper in the long run for sure and this will last you a long time and its all good stuff to keep and put in a new buggy once d8 get a lil old

links to most stuff, dont have links to the alphas right now but i will link all i can throught amain

ur lookin at a rought price estimate almost like a quote these arent exact prices so bare with me

D8= 280 amain
DE skids= 14.50
Radio dx or mx= 100
Werks or alpha about= 210ish
pipe= 80ish
servos hitech= around 70 each need 2 so 140
tires wheels are included so only need tires aka or pl= 40ish

so TOTALING at about 750.50

yes its high but its the best setup on the market for a rally cheap price and prices can be cheaper than that its like a insurance quote so u might run away at 700 flat give or take but it will out last and out do a hyper in the long run for sure and this will last you a long time and its all good stuff to keep and put in a new buggy once d8 get a lil old

all done in my head and you might need a proper batter pack to there like 20 or so and fuel locally is like 40 or amain case is cheaper in long run but is costly hope this helps you o yea one more thing starter box about 80 for losi box but look at it this way even rtr losis at 700 will need over 100 dollar servos off the bat and the losi 350 engine is good but dont last best thing out of rtr losi is radio and starter box lol
