Default Second hand TMaxx keeps jamming

So Ibought a secone hand Jato and Tmaxx, both missing some parts. The Tmaxx is almost done (missing the throttle arm, an exhaust header, and part of the wheel assembly), so basically I should be able to tell if it's going to work. I put it on the ground and rolled it back and forth, and it was a little stiff. I checked the brakes, kinda rusted. I put some WD40 on (don't flame me, I'll get new ones sometime) and it seemed a little better, I rolled it some more, and the wheels locked up. I blamed the brakes, however I'm not sure it is. I think it might be one of the wheel gearboxes. Is there a way to test this without having disassemble half the car?
