Default looking for some nitro help

hey guys I have a dilema and would like some input from the masses.
I have a vspec motor that has gone bye bye. No compression left, I can get a speed piston/sleeve/rod nib for 140.00. Or a new werks b5 for 180.00. Or a Novarossi RX-21 P5XS just through break in. This is for a mugen mbx6t. Im not sure I want to get any more OS stuff because the vspec just doesnt seem to last too long. I have never used the werks or nova motors, and am wondering at how the nova listed would work in the truck? I have heard good things about the werks b5 in truck.
Thanks!!

I run the Werks B5/2013 combo in my 6T and love it, but I wouldn't hesitate over the Nova P5xs either. Both great truggy engines.

crank pin is the problem with your vspec, piston sleeve and rod will not last long if the rod is sloppy on the crank.

Even if you get the speed p/s/r the weak point on the vspec is the crank pin it wears out fast. Once a vspec is blow. It's pretty much parts. I race with a guy that has a powerhouse modded nova p5 and that engine rips hard. I would go with nova over the werks engine.

If it where a Speed then it would be worth rebuilding because the crank pin will last and a re-pinch would do the trick. But if your crank pin is still perfect round a pinch is a great option on these motors because for $75 you can have the P/S re-pinched and new rod, clips, and wrist pin. The OS motors are great but at 4 gallons they need a pinch. A B5 is also a great option because it is a great motor with more then enough torque for the very light mbx6t. If you change motors you also gota factor in the price of a good pipe to run with that motor if you don't already have one. A "freshly broke in motor" to me sounds like someone screwed something up in the process and does not to run it.

Dont know why or how a stock motor will compared it to the modded, Not a fair comparation. What about clockworks B5 sound like a better comparation... besides driver skills make a big difference.
Back to topic.. B5/2013 on Truggy best option, keep some bucks in your pocket, I forgot, no need to replace rod after brake in, also the support from Ron is second to none. Nova are very good engines but after both engines been ready to race you will spend less with werks.
