Default what glow plug tempreature should I buy (im a noob)

I have a HPI nitrostar 4.1 engine.

old 30% nitrotane gas (team losi gas it says on it)

I run it around 15-25C temperature.

I dont race, just bash around when I got a curious friend who wants to see the car, we'll burn about 1-2 tanks... then it will sit on the shelf for another month, not much use at all!! I would like max performance and life though out of the glow plug.

so do I get a cold? medium? hot? super hot? turbo? turbo hot? super turbo hot? lol

thanks.

I run 30% and I will generally run a hot plug in my Truggy. You could get by with anything medium or above really. The hotter the plug...the easier it is to tune as they say. In my basher Revo I always ran O'Donnell Sport Purples which are hot plugs...and CHEAP! ;-)

OD 87/97T, or the OS P3...

Odonnel plugs are 4.99, OS plugs are 8-10

I wouldn't use old fuel. Always use fresh fuel. Just how old is it?

i use teh OD97T plugs too since i dont feel as bad for throwing them out @ $5 each compared to the OS plugs. But i would start with a hot plug first and get a medium plug too. Really you need to have at least one extra on hand any way. Then just test and see what you like better.

the fuel is 12-18 months old. I dont care if im not getting 100% performance. like I said, 95% performance is good enough for me. I only use the car once a month when a new friend wants to see it.

I ordered a mccoy #59 hot plug from carolinasrc... it seems like 99/100 items there are either on backorder or not in stock, wtf?

yes i agree a hot plug defieltly, makes the tune a bit easier and idle a lot better ! meduim plugs arent bad, but you do have to lean the needles out more and they dont seem to last as long.
