Default Running RC Vehicles on the street or park

Hi there,
Is it illegal to run an rc vehicle (nitro or electric) on the street or at the local park? If so, where is this rule stated?
When i say street i mean in front of your house not down in the centre of town. I ask this because many people do it including myself and the other day i was at the local park and this bloke walking his dog approached me and said "don't get caught mate" its illegal to run rc cars on the road and at the park.

in Australia it's not illegal to run an rc model in the street or park, however it's illegal to be a public nuisance so If someone complains then yes its illegal

I zip mine up and down my street when I'm tuning steering and what not. Cop drove past and just waved. No I don't thinks it's an issue till someone complains.

I was breaking in my Nitro Hyper 10sc last night. I think the neighbors were getting a little annoyed. I plan on taking it to the grade school a block away to finish breaking it in just to be courteous.

On a street no, but in a local park yes. They label it as a motorized vehicle.

First off, some guy walking down the street isn't the best source for this type of information; 96% of people simply aren't competent to make legal determinations.

I'm guessing you're in Australia? There must be an equivalent to the civil code; just do an online search. Honestly, as others stated, you're probably not going to have any problems so long as you're not impeding traffic, or running it too early or late. Heck, you may even get a few curious onlookers asking where they can one of their own.
