What's the most popular buggy?
I'm curious. What is the most popular buggy at the local tracks in your area? I don't want to know what wins ( that is the one with the best driver ) or which is the "best" ( that's the one YOU drive, of course :) ). I want to know which brand & model most guys are dropping on the track to race.
I'll start. I live in and race in the Houston, Texas area. USA. Here it's probably Mugen MBX-6, followed by X-RAY 808, then a mix of everything else. |
losi followed by AE.
there is only a couple mugens. but losi by a large margin the shop does not get much buisness from me:D |
Here in the Atlantic Canada region its 99% Losi 8ight 2.0 vehicles. Only 2 Kyosho's both of them belong to 1 person. 1 or 2 Xrays. 3 Hot Bodies D8's I think. Afew RC8's. Losi is just the thing down here.

Most of you guys are leaving out where you are from. I'd really like to know what the racing scene is like in different parts of the US as well as other countries.
The reason I brought the topic up is that from references in posts on here, I had picked up the fact that Losi seems to be a popular choice in a lot of places. I'm just wondering how widespread it is. Recently there was an RCPro race at one of our local tracks and I checked RC Signup to see who was running that I knew. In the 1/8 Sportsman class, over half the field was Mugen! Then X-Ray, then everybody else. 1/8 Expert was a little more balanced but it was still more Mugens than anything else and a lot of those guys are sponsored. Anyway, thanks for the responses everybody. |
Losi
Mugen AE Hot Bodies O'Donnell Xray In that order from my unscientific observation here in Illinois... |
Losi is the most popular. Used to be by an extreme margin. That's not so true anymore around here. Probably followed by Mugen, HB and AE. There are a few Xray's also and a few Kyosho's, but the first four make up the majority. Any of the above are great rides.;)

Losi easily here, followed by Mugen then everything else kinda squished together.
