ROAR quit being stupid
In reference to their new body restrictions:
http://www.buggy-sport.info/index.ph...al-bodies.html
This is stupid IMO. Even the "approved" bodies don't look anything like a real offroad buggies anymore so what's the point in these restrictions. Next are they going to outlaw engine heads that stick through the body because they're not "true to scale"? What about requiring shock towers to be shorter as they stick up farther than real cars?
ROAR races aren't "car shows" of model toys, they're RACES!
Let racing provide the natural progression and innovation that it will inherently bring. If ROAR wants to be the fashion police of model cars perhaps it should start judging wooden model car competitions at the nearest boy scout meeting.
If ROAR thinks these new bodies are so polarizing, why are so many customers buying them? Obviously they are a welcomed accessory.
ROAR, quit being stupid.

There are like 2 or 4 threads on this topic.........They did allow the Serpent body. But all in all, no one is talking about this at Nats, so I guess people pretty much got over it.... Plus this rule stands for ONE race.... I can live with that.

Roar does need to get its act together. Maybe time to clean house.... but seeing as they only provide on race a year I could give two flying fish what they say isn't scale.. its a hobby... nothing is scale at this point..

You'll have to forgive me, I don't really understand the fundamental nature of the problem that ROAR has: why are certain bodies "legal" and others not?
1/8 buggy isn't a miniaturized version of a full-size racing formula, so ALL chassis and ALL bodies are fictional, designed purely for performance... Could someone please explain the criteria that ROAR are using to create a tempest in a teapot? Thanks

i dont know about you guys but i would think that bigger problem with roar would be the fact the $90,000 went to "administrative expenses". not saying anyones taking money but when you bring in just over 100K and you spend most of it on the RMT that should definitely be a sign that some adjustment is needed.

I think the Durango body looks the *most* like a 1/10 2wd buggy body out of all the modern cars.
It's like...how did JC get their new bodies passed; but none of the PL Bulldogs are? Guess PL didn't go through and pay to be approved.
