Default Diff. Shim Question

How are you guys shimming your rear diffs on the 8T 2.0s? The owners manual isnt close. When I took mine apart it had 2 .25s on each side. Still have a problem with them blowing. Any tips ? Thanks in advance.....

Couple of things, once you blow the gears you need to repace the gearbox when rebuilding. I would also run the alumnium inserts and get rid of the plastic ones, they allow for some unwanted flex. When installing the new pinion gear pull in all the way forward when installing the coupler to remove any slack. All gear boxes are differant but I have 3 shims on the left and 2 on the right. Some times it feels notchy but it will wear in just fine.
