Default Cause for carb sticking?

Took the carb apart and this is what I found. When I put it back together and try to move it it seems that right when it reaches that circular scratch it locks up. I guess this was caused from tightening the idle screw too much?

I'm about to order a new carb because I can't seem to find this piece only.

Also, there's other scratches on it. What am I doing wrong?

see those slots on the slide, the idle screw screws into those slots, that keeps the lsn from coming all the way out of the carb too

which slot does the idle screw go into, the deeper slot or the shallow one?
