Default Piston rubbing on exhaust port?

I have a new losi 350 engine......and when I turn it over by hand the piston groves at the top of the piston almost get "caught" a little bit on the exhaust port giving it a rough feel at the bottom of the stoke. What should I do, is this normal sometimes?

Thanks! 871

its probrably from (flashing) from the exhaust port. During the machining process when the exhaust port is cut out there is a little bit of an edge portruding into the cylinder. It happens more on cheaper engines. You can be very care ful and take it apart and inspect it. and if it is flashing in the sleeve exhaust port you can try and carefully file it off just dont touch the inside of the sleeve where the piston seals. Or you can try and see if the manufacturer will warranty it.
