Default Savage question

I have a buddy that told me he would sell his HPI Savage to me. He said he has a .21 engine for it but it has a .28 engine in it right now, plus a couple bodies, airfilters, another set of tires and some other random parts for $250. Is that a good price? It is on pretty good shape, but I have no idea what those engine sizes mean and if that is a good engine. This is my first one so I am learning as I go and trying to read up on them. Thanks for any input.

You can get a brand new Savage X for a little over $100 more. I always find when buying something used, you are generally buying someone's problems. Used RC usually needs more money to be spent on it. Sometimes you find good deals but a lot of the time it's junk. Go new, you will be happier in the end. My MT of choice is the Losi LST XXL. Savage's are great too, I have a Flux.
