With the cheap cost of Traxxas motors just buy a new one and save your frustration. Better yet go buy a motor worth owning, yeah they are more expensive but you get what you pay for in motors.

As for the motor looking new, well I have an old os vg (junk) with six gallons on it that is blown and looks the way it did the day I took it out of the box brand new. used is used. I buy used motors and have been burned a couple times but have come out ahead too.
