Default Engine bearing question

I just put some new engine bearings in my novarossi 21-5 and the bearings turn smooth but when i tighten down the flywheel there is quite a bit of resistance in the bearings, did I get the bearings in far enough?

Sometimes you have to put a shim between the bearing and flywheel to keep the flywheel from hitting.

Be sure the main bearing is placed in the right way, from the rear you must see the ball ckearly and not the ring holding the balls.

If that is right then 1 of the bearings needs to be pushed further.

is it still rough with the backplate off? main bearing. the front bearing should go in as you tighten down the nut. there may be a hair of stiffness until you put some fuel through them.
