Default how is Associated's Pro-Start Hand Held Starting System

hey guys how is associated's Pro-Start Hand Held Starting System? I was thinking about picking one up for this season, but is it reliable and do people use them when they race? If so, I might as well just build my own and get a starter box. But I'm kind of on a budget... what do you recommend?

I would seriously consider saving your pennies and getting a starter box. A good cheap one can be had for about $70 new and for less than $50 used. Get a cheap gel cell for $30 and be done with it. The reason I say gel cell is because it sounds like you do not want to go spend money on a charger. I am assuming you do not have one. If you do, amain sells protek stick packs for a very reasonable price. Two 3000mah packs will do just fine for a day at the track. Hope this helps.

Oh, and to answer your question about racing; No absolutely not, and if they do its only because they are saving up to get a starter box. People just do not use a roto-start to race seriously.

However, I will say do whatever gets you running now and go out there and drive. If you cannot afford a starter box right now then don't get one, just know that aside from tires it should be number one on your list of things to buy. Driving is what this is all about! An extra 5 hours of practice will make you far faster than a starter box ever will.
