I would take a look at the WERKS B5. Price is unbeatable at $199 great power for truggy plus good run times. Go to the Werks B5 thread and read what everyone is saying.

Another great option is the new JS racing engine by EB mods. That motor has more then enough torque for a truggy and the powerband is very smooth and predictable. I only have a few races on mine, but I have to say its my favorite motor so far.

Whats the best pipe for the P5? I see the dynamite 086 and several nova pipes that people have used.

Dynamite 086 for more top end, or a dynamite 053 or ofna 053 pipeset if you need more bottom for short run up jumps. Those are the budget pipeset recommendations, you could of course go with the nova pipeset's if you want. I run a mbx6t with the dynamite 086 and I couldn't imagine needing anymore bottom and the top absolutely screams. Ive ran almost every brand of motor and after running the nova's I won't run anything else.

Default Nova pipe

I run 9853 in truck and 9901 in buggy. 9901 gets more milage. you can't go wrong with a novarossi motor. Also, I have been seeing alot of the alpha motors around the Pit lately. All the guys running it say its the best $200 motor they have owned. Makes a ton of power.

I would say you will be happy with either one of those two. If you want great service go with Monty's P5. Plus you will find help around the track easier with the Nova.

I have the Alpha S852 and Z852 in stock. Awesome motors, S852 is a torque motor and would be best in a truggy.

There is tons of great motors out right now, one of the best deals is the Go 5 port combo with the 2072 pipe. For $250.00 or so it's a steal. With the coated crank, wrist pin and carb slide they will last 10+ gallons easy.
Here's a pic of the combo.

Werks B5 or the Sirio Kanai EVO III same motor, different head. On the plus side the Siro has a coated crank. You can get it for 189 at absolutehobbyz.com

Alpha F850 or S852 with alpha pipe for $260ish. Or the Ofna JL from Neal at Clockwork Mods hand lapped piston super fast break-in, and Neal cna hook you up with pipe and or clutch too..

Only prob I have with the Werks B5 is the price of the pipe if your unlucky enough to not have one already.. $100 for a pipe is too much IMO.

I've been putting together some alpha engine and pipe combos for some customers lately. So if any of you are interested pm me or email at [email protected]

You don't have to run the Werks pipe on the B5. You will get the most out of the engine if you do, but many pipes will work on the B5 with good results. Besides $295 for an ITALIAN made engine/pipe combo of the B5's caliber is a ridiculous deal!
