I have run the life and the Lipo's and lipo's are better by far for our needs, I have had 2 of them hi life give up when you need them, In our Truggy i run the Nosram 2200mHa 7.4 lipo with the HT regulator ( the one with the heat sink) and both battery and reg have served us well for two race seasons same in the 808 but running BLS servos 2200mHa with HT reg and not one problem i packed both boxes out with some stick on foam and the buggy lipo is 3 years old and still going. We just had our state titles here and we did a 45min A main and a 20 min Semi and only used just on 1000mHa with out a charge one car running NIMH receiver packs was dead flat and only just finished the race, the other thing with the lipo is you get a constant power supply to your servos all day.......

life is better for me, my 1 life pack has outlasted my last 3 lipo packs/regulators. if you want 8.4v and hv servos don't do life, but if you want a constant 7.2v with no regulator and regular servos life wins all day. you need a life charger, most lipo chargers do life also, read the manual. nimh packs get pretty beatup in the box and fail sometimes, also take forever to charge. you can pound a life pack at double amps and not worry about a thing. charge up a 1700 in 30 minutes and drain it in 2 hours, not bad.

I have been running lipo for the last 2 1/2 years, never blew up, never had any problems, I run HV servos so no regulator.

i run the hyperion in my truggy. i love it. the only thing you need to watch for is the bottom and ends tend to wear through if you dont keep an eye on them. this shorts out the pack and you are done. i now have 2 so that i can change them out regularly and inspect them. i just throw on some elec. tape when i see them wearing thin.

i am running a IP 1450mah life pack in my 808, that's a very tight fit, no way i can get a piece of foam on the sides, might be able to put in a piece of foam below the radio box lid...
