Hi does anyone know what size the out drive pins are on a MBX5T. I just took a diff apart and it was working fine but both outdrive pins are in 3 pieces.

Is there a part number for them or do I have to buy the outdrives and pins together?

You want T0215 2x9.8mm pin but I can't find them on A main any more.

The ones for the 6 may fit and are 2.2x9.8mm

I got some of those pins and may have a 5t outdrive around still. I gota look but I will try those see if they fit for you when I get home this afternoon. But yea those pins are what turned me off about running a mugen truggy. They hold up fine in buggy but are sub par in the truck.

yer, they used to let go on me too in the 5T, I think thats why they are now 2.2 in the 6T.

Exactly, if you install 6t outdrives, pins, and side gears you'll be rock solid.
(the 5T side gear won't fit over the 6T outdrive pin)

Thanks for the info so far guys, I found these from amain maybe they will work? I kinda like the idea of changing the side gears and outdrives to the 6T version also.

If ya change to 6T crowns you'l need 6T pinions too as the thread pitch is different.
I'v shredded a 6T pinion and tried a 5T one as I had a few spare but the fit feels terrible.

Nitrohouse carries them and if they don't have them in stock they just drive down the street and get the right from the mugen warehouse.

Mugen sells the MBX5/ProSpec/R/T 2.0 x 9.8mm pins under two part numbers.
One is T0215. I'll find out the other part number for you when I get back to the office.

The 2.2 x 9.8mm pins (E0237) from the MBX6/T will not work unless you replace the 18T side gears inside the diff cups as well as replace the out drives. The gears are part # E0230 and come in pairs. The F/R out drives are E0228 and the center out drives are E0229. You do not need to replace the 4 small 10T gears unless they are worn (C0230).

If your out drives are worn, then I'd do it. But if not, it'll cost you some coin to replace all those parts. The smaller 2.0mm pins typical break in the rear when you land on the rear wheels while under acceleration. With the newer, lighter truggy tires/wheels I don't see it being much of an issue anymore. When I ran my MBX5T with much heavier MT and MTR tires I only broke those pins once. The key is to make sure your out drives are not worn as well as the CVD pins. I use the Innovative Design BoneSaver tool to replace my CVD pins so they are always like new. The pins are cheap. With good pins the out drives last 10x longer.

+1 to what tony said. But i found the reason they break is if you let the center dogbone pins go really bad then all that slap goes right down the drivetrain into the diffs and causes not only these pins to break but you'll eventually wear out the pinion. just keep the center bones fresh and you'll never break another... trust me!
