Default I think i was driving it too hard

Everything was going fine, wasnt hitting nearly as many obstacles as i normally do. the buggy was dialed, the engine tune was right on, then instant silence.

Ouch! I'm sure a bit of superglue can fix that.
It kinda looks like you ran it without an airfilter...

Yeah it suprised me too, i am real anal about the air filter and making sure that the carb, filter neck and intake are clean/free of any dirt, i also run 2 fuel filters (tech at 123cc) but i also do wreck alot. I doubt any dirt got in there through the carb, maybe front bearing?

its a sts mill. looks like i got a monday motor this time. the previous one lasted 8 gallons before being put to rest, this happened at about the 2 gallon mark. I already have another on order, this engine really does great, it can hang with mills 5x the price yet it is cheap enough that i dont sweat the small stuff.

the reason for getting a new engine instead of repairing this one is because it cracked long before it broke and there is some unusual wear inside as result. plus being just under 100.00 it isnt a lifechanging purchase. meanwhile i have a nib nova limited here that i will put through the paces.

Sure is a lot of friction marks in the transfer port area, between the bearings. My guess would be a bad bearing causing some slop, but I could be wrong too.

Yeah unfortunately that's not an uncommon break down for an STS mill.

I did have good luck with both STS I had, but I've seen a lot who haven't.

I wonder who makes that engine for sts? If it's just a rebadged and cheaper engine I'm sure there's better quality cranks that mite be compatible with that engine type. I don't no sts but an os vspec crank is crappy so I hear people upgrading to the speed crank/rod or ninja. And I also hear go engines parts can work with other engines so I would see if there's a higher quality version of engines that r made by the same manufacturer producing that engine.

STS is a engine manufacturer in their own right, to my knowledge they don't make engines for anyone other than themselves.
