Default Gas Truck?

I'm sure this has been brought up but I'm asking anyway. I couldn't find an older thread.

Should Gastruck come back?

Speedy of 1/8 buggy/ truggy and they never break parts. But it was always the funniest and skilled class to run. I started in 1/10 gas truck and it really helps learn Some throttle controll i know a few sportman that need to race some gas truck. Isnt any of that always on always off throttle smooth input are Your going Around. I think gas truck well come back some this year. Speedyrob

i ran gas truck till the end up here, i liked it cause like stated above, it was cheaper in every way. every race day i did have some small issue or break something, but its par for the course when you are on tracks that make truggys look small!

this might sound like a non issue as to why it went away, but i think the biggest problem was just trying to find a motor to fit the truck, the losi required a standard crank where the gt2 was the more common sg crank. didnt leave a wide engine selection.

There were plenty of motors that would fit both . BTW will a little modding you can run a SG shaft motor in the Losi truck .

i think it will come back in the dallas area, we have a local electric track that is building a good size nitro track outside. alot of the electric guys are wanting to try nitro and i'm starting to see many gas trucks starting to show up in the electric pits that the guys are showing off that they have bought to race when the new track is built. i hope it comes back!!!

I'm praying that this class comes back as I just purchased new Factory Team GT2 and OS .12TZ for about $280 for both

I would like to see it return, it was cheap, low maintaince (except the ball diffs) and fun. Maybe a resurgence in the class if there was a 4wd version or short course ones like the slash class did to electric.

Everything seems to go in cycles. I wouldn't doubt it would make a comeback. I think people lost interest because 2WD nitros with insane power and lightswitch powerbands are hard to control for the average racer.

I think gas truck started to die off right about the time brushless 1/10th systems became the norm. Its the same now with 1/8 guys going electric. All the power of nitro, with the ease of a RTR. People who cant tune a nitro engine, or just dont like the fumes could get the same speed and power from batterys. I loved gas truck, and would still run it today if it wasnt extinct. I see a few at the track from time to time, but most are sitting alone at a pit table with a for sale sign taped to them.

Motors aren't really an issue for them. You don't need anything more than a wasp, cvr, or dynamite. and those things are around 100 bucks. My MST-1 Will get the wheel time it deserves this year.

No, there time is over. I to have a 10th scale, but no more racing. with the adoption of Corr trucks and now 1/8 craze there is no time for the fragile 10 scale trucks.

Plus it was cause for smaller tighter tracks. And there is not away to please both 10 and 8th on the same track

8ff wants big track with big jumps and 10ff smaller tighter tracks with small jumps........

I dont see it coming back. I dont see a company putting t he money in R&D to come out with anything new for 10 nitro
