revving out of control and spitting raw fuel

Did a thorough cleaning of my 8ight T today by taking everything apart and then putting it back together. When I started it up, it idled fine for about 10 seconds and then started revving out of control and spitting raw fuel out of the exhaust pipe. What could I have done to create this?

did you take the engine apart?

ncstater6 03-14-2010 08:03 PM

i had removed the pipe, and cooling head

I removed the clutch bell after it started revving up like crazy the first time and noticed the chuch shoes look pretty worn. This is my first RC so I don't know if that could cause this issue, but the truggy seems to accelerate fine. May or not be a related issue.

You could have also punctured the fuel line and caused a leak when you tore it all down. Try different fuel tubing and see if that fixes your problem.

Did you re-shim it correctly?

Check and make sure connect the throttle servo. Idle gap or hole in the fuel line.

+1 - if you took off your throttle servo horn off at any point, you might have put it on a tooth or two off. Double check your linkage.
