Aaron, I have a question for you:

I have a Sirio S12 SE in my AD2 and it ran great for almost 2 gallons. Lately it's been giving me a hard time. It still runs really well, but it's been getting the stallies. I've pulled the carb all apart and worked it a bit: the idle screw was beat up a little from all the burs on the barell, the low end needle needed a tiny bit of polishing (it seemed to gawl on the seat a little bit), I cleaned everything, green slimed the o-rings and put it back together. I'd like to start tuning from the factory needle settings - do you know what they are?

I gotta say, the Sirion motor lays down power like you read about but the quality of the carb parts is a real bummer. I'd like to getting running well with the stock carb though because I've tried an OS carb and it doesn't make enough power for me.

thanks in advance

Should try replacing the orings in the carb while you're at it. My buddies engine after a season of racing got loose in the idle screw. It would back itself off so that when he hit the brakes the carb closed all the way killing the engine.

AW do you mess with the EXP for throttle, I usually keep mine at zero, just wondering what the big dawgs do.

Also would you say that spraying ad2 down with brake cleaner is a bad idea???? I have been strippping hexes and think this may be the reason, what do you think???

thanks

Hey Aaron. I don't know if you read RC Driver but is it just me or does Mike Truhe bear a real strong resemblance to one of the characters in the Flip Syde comc strip?

x-GTer - We actually got asked this question at the track today. Of course...I wasn't paying attention when Adam tuned the racer's engine for him. They've changed the carburetor on those motors a few times, I'm not sure what it is.

Try e-mailing Adam (his e-mail address is on the Losi website) and seeing if he can help you out with that one.

Exponential tricks your brain. It's a crutch...I won't touch it with a ten foot pole. I won't clean any of the plastic parts on any of my cars with anything other than WD-40. It's impossible to tell which "brake cleaner" or "motor spray" or any other cleaning agent is going to hurt the material. WD-40 is A-DUB guaranteed safe on Losi plastic!

trackdesigner - Andrew Swanson earned the nickname "Recess" because a racer's wife said he reminded her of a character on the cartoon....haha.

Aaron, why don't you have an Avatar? Is that some kind of a statement?

Why don't you take a picture of your favorite car and post it...everyone loves your pink bodies bro!

Lates......

Just haven't worried about getting one. I don't have an avatar on any of the bulletin boards I visit.

Aaron -

What do you think of rear aluminum hub carriers on 1/10 electric buggies/trucks? Great for cleaning up slop or unnecessary weight addition?

I think they're great. They're very durable, don't get sloppy, and don't have any disadvantages.

Aaron--
Why is your neck so red?? Is that from all the gas racing you do? Or does something else cause that??

Also, I heard that Losi is going to do a revision on the AD-2 to make it so that it includes Sun Tan lotion, and directions to apply liberal amounts to the back of your neck............Is this true??
