You'll need a 17mm hub to use the Dubro prop balancer for buggy and truggy wheels. The zero offset truggy wheels want to lean over so make sure the silicon tube is tight. Replace it if it gets loose, or just use a collar similar to what you see on your linkage. The Losi/Dynamite units use 17mm hexes. Hudy units use interchangeable arms for all types of wheels. Balancing isn't a perfect science, but it's MUCH better than not doing it at all. You will notice improved traction and longer lasting parts. Don't believe me? Just pick up your ride with one hand and hit the gas with the other. Hold on tight...lol. Convulsions mean you should balance. |
does the dynamite balance work well? Can I balance a set of 40 series bow ties with it?

I read some where that the dynamite one works well if you take the seals off of the bearings to much drag. I bought the losi one and it works great.You will notice a big difference in the vibration when you hold you buggy and rev it.

honestly im not too sure. 40 series is a Big honkin tire to begin with. Try it out and let us know. |
Hey guys,
I decided to balance my buggy, truggy tires for next week's race in Pattaya, I did balance few sets out of th bag without running them in!! Is that ok? Prior to balancing i did roll the tire in my hand, moved the foam side to side then rolled it back again! Just to get the foam seated right!! Do i have to redo the balancing ???? Can anyone explain exactly how you guys balance your tires just to check my method! For truggy tires, it is normal to put a "large" amount of balancing puddy? About 1.5cm tall and few mm thick? Yeah it's normal for that much clay on a truggy tire. They take a good amount.
I like to spin up the tires on a electric 1/8 scale to seat the foams. However I have just ballanced them in the past fresh after glueing, and when i rechecked after heavy usage they were still very lose still. So you should be golden. |

I just bought a AKA wheel balancer it works pretty good and smooth ! On truggys its better to balance them for sure if you can. But when you do balance them they wont be perfect they will always have some rock in them .
Does it make a diffrence in handling well it did seem to make my E-Truggy easier to drive and maybe more grip im not a pro driver so i cant tell a hugh diffrence . I have one guy i race with that doesnt seem to think its important to have truggy tires balance well go drive a real car with unbalance tires :lol::eek: |
I do the same as yours on pre mounts. I balance brand new sets and never run them in. I put a gob load of putty too on my truggy. Can't do anything about it cause I buy pre mounts.

Balanci tires defiantly leaves the car less upset and you can focus more on the track than the car fighting itself. I always balance my tires :cool:

The only downside i guess is your wheels will be heavyer . But at least there balances i watched the AKA video with Mark balanceing the rims. And he said to minimize the rocking you may have to add some clay to a other side your see it towards the end of the video on the AKA website. I acutally had to do that and i have one of wheels really good it only has a little bit of rocking :D
