Default Voltage regulator

I recently got a sportwerks turmoil 1/8 scale buggy. I am using a 3pk with spektrum module to control it.I am looking into lipo receiver packs to power the receiver/servos, my question is do I need to use a voltage regulator to avoid burning up the servos? Or does the receiver moderate the voltage?
I have 2 different receivers one is a 3100 pro the other is the grey sr3000.
Both servos spektrums one 590 and one 270. New to nitro so any input is appreciated.

Your receiver will not regulate the voltage. The two servos mentioned are not designed to handle 7.4v also.
For your current setup you will need a regulator. If you change servos down the road and want to run them at 7.4v, make sure they can handle that voltage and you can do away with the regulator, get faster transit time, and more torque out of the servos then.

I went with a regulator since running a lipo for the rx, I have always used the cc bec and have had great luck with it, it's also adjustable witch makes it even better.....
