Questions?? rc8 diff help!!

I took apart the center diff on my rc8 and 1 outdrive had 1 diff washer and the other had 3, the manual says to put 2 on each. Is the manual right or was there an update thats not in the manual??? The side going to the rear had 3 and side on the spur had 1 if it helps.....i bought it used. Putting the two shims on the spur side did make it pretty tight getting the outdrive pin in.

i think some where in the instruction manual it said no end play on that center diff to the rear maybe the person who had it before thought that would help get rid of some play. go 2 and 2 and see if anything changes.

it seems like it wouldnt change much, either way there is 4 shims inside, i put it all back together with fresh 5000, 2 and 2 like the manual says, its pretty stiff, but i've never had a 1/8 gear diff, i've always run 1/10 ball diffs, don't have much to go by. It spun alot easier before i took it apart, but the oil was like black grease.

i have 5 all the way across,it should not spin a hole lot, your old diff fluid more than likely was toast anyway.

Should be good to go with 2 and 2! Fresh diffs make a car feel so much smoother!
