Default WEIGH'M IF YA GOT'M (truggys)

Hey everyone. I was just wondering, what the REAL weight difference is between one brand of truggy and another.

I keep hearing that my jamm. x2 is heavier than MOST of the others, although the boxes all say 4,000-4100, grams.

My x2 truggy stock (engine & pipe installed) weighs-6.93 lbs. with;
-no boddy
-no fuel
-no wheels
-no battery

I know engines and pipes can vary but, prolly not THAT much.
If you will, throw her on the scales minus these 4 things ( with- w/out engine) & let's see-(any brand).

Thanx

i dont think the jammin truggy is the heavyest, with the engine and everything else im pretty, sure the tamiya truggy is.

but i think in truggy the weight doesnt matter, as much as a heavy 1/8 buggy.

this is an excellent thread, how about weigh the engine separately and the roller with servos separately. I can collect all the data and post it on a search able, sortable table, along with other specs.

losi is a pretty heavy buggy/ truggy. Mugen is one of the lightest from data i have seen. i for one not because i drive a losi but would rather drive a heavier buggy/truggy then i lite one. you wont be able to push a light one as much because youll get thrown around

I agree weigh in full race trim. Body, batteries and 1/2 tank of fuel.

oh yea i see what you, mean about a ,truggy or buggy being lite you really cant drive them that hard compared, to heavyer buggys. or truggys and im talking about with a tank of fuel, and everything else. for instance i have a losi eight 1.0 buggy and it doesnt like to,,, be driven hard really lol.. im getting used to it though but i, rather drive it harder though....

The losi buggy does have to be driven easy, but the difference is youll be just as fast as someone driving another manu. car hard

Good response to my little thread here so far! I really did'nt expect much.

As far as just weighing your truggy and posting, remember to specify if it is really bone STOCK or not. Like say, EVERY extech aftermarket part you can cram on the thing (way heavier), or all titanium turnbuckles, and linkages, or maybe carbon-fiber stuff (lighter). { I lost a TON off a used mbx5t I bought, just by taking all the extech stuff off!}

I guess my real aim is to see if my x2 CAN be as light as any other truggy.

As far as the weight-good-weight-bad argument, I HAVE to run a .21 in my truck now because of our new track layout () , and can use all the weight-savings I can get!............... Keep'm comin'!

100% incorrect. I have to add weight to my Tamiya for it to pass tech.

With the light weight chassis, it weighs 3978 grams. Thats with VTR Calibers wheels/tires. With the stock chassis (never weighed it with a stock one), its probably right at the 4000 gram limit.
I run no other light weight parts, dont need to.
