i once used shoegoo on one of my on-road bodys and didnt like it,was a pain to clean all the dirty crap off, does not wipe off as easily as the aluminum heat tape.

No problems at all.

To reinforce the body to prevent cracking? Fiberglass drywall tape with shoe goo. I usually reinforce around the body posts, and any "stress points."

I've never put a heat shield tape on, but thinking about it on the body I'm about to do.

I have had a pipe distort the plastic before... polycarbonate bodies are formed by heating to about 360 degrees and pulling over a mold using vacuum. I'm thinking the heat shield tape is a good idea.

The Nomex tape is my favorite but it's $6.00 per car.
The aluminium air conditioner tape has come off on me but its much cheaper.
I use the Shoo-goo and fiber method now because it also holds my bodies together longer, i put it at all the places where bodies normally break and i'm good:tire:;);):tire:
