Default Tire recommendation

Hi Everyone,

The outside offroad season is begining soon up here in the North. We run on a large dirt track , semi loose when its dry, gets pretty rutted by the time its ready for the mains. Most people run AKA I beams, crossbraces and Proline crime fighters and bowties. Nobody seems to try anything else. What are some good tire recommendations other then the usual for 1/8th scale buggy, Thanks in advance

Try Jconcept truggy Crosshairs in the blue compound. I think that will give you the diversity and the extra grip you are looking for. Shoot me if you have any questions.

PL M2 Calibers in buggy and truggy if the track is soft and had a fluffy top/gets rutted. M3 if there is any base to the track surface.

JConcepts Crosshairs in truggy ROCK if there is *any* kind of hard sub-base; but otherwise lack forward bite in loose topsoil type tracks.

JC Blue compound will work pretty much all the time.

JC Crowbars and Crossbows (or combo thereof) would also prob. work well in Buggy. From what you said folks are running; this would be my first combo to try.

There may be a reason nobody tries any other tire. Maybe because the tires that they are using are proven.

Just a thought.

You may be right, thanks for all the responses. What are the advantages of using closed cell foam such as AKA, compared to a regular medium foam such as Ofna etc.? Thanks

Other than reusing the AKA foams; I've found them to be best suited to hard packed high-bite tracks.

I still prefer a nice, medium molded type foam for most outdoor tracks.

For buggy, it would be best to have a set of blue crowbars in your box. They work well in the type of conditions you are describing. The JConcepts profiled foams are the way to go also.
