nitro engine question
 

i started up my truggy the other day and it idled for bout 20 secs then flamed out with a back fire. havent been able to get it started since; sounds like it will kick off letting the glow plug warm for bout 5 secs then just a flat sound as if its not firing. does this even when i lean it to where the glow plugs not wet when i pull it. just wondering what to try or if my engine may be gone. thanks for any help.

i would try a new glow plug and if that doesnt fix it i bet its a worn out rod. i had one do that and i put a new glow plug in it, a hotter plug. and it made it the rest of the day but next time i ran it it was fast as crap but as soon as it hit idle it shut off and the cause was that the piston was hitting the glow plug.

Check for airleak around the glowplug I had one leaking and it made the car idle pourly and backfire and die or act like it wanted to die.

If you kept trying to fire your engine its flooded take the glow plug out turn over let it drain if it a pull start pull a couple of times. Pull the glow plug put on your igniter verify if its glows bright. Dont worry about the tank for now start with the motor. Make sure your head screws are tight along with the glow plug. Prime the line again make sure you see fuel flowing stop right before the fuel inlet see if it starts.

be sure to give this a try next good day out. hopefully 2morrow. when i checked the head bolts they felt like they may have been a little loose so there may be where my problem lied.
