Servo dying?
I was running my 8ight 2.0 around today and all of a sudden the throttle and brake servo just quit working. The battery in the RC car was fully charged. I took it back to the house and started looking at it and nothing appeared to be wrong with it. The steering worked just fine.
So I took the steering servo wire and plugged it where the throttle steering wire was and the throttle trigger now controlled the steering. I then placed the throttle servo wire into the steering slot on the RC cars receiver and the servo didn't work. I placed everything back to the way it was originally.
I pulled the throttle full and the servo didn't move. I "helped" it and it moved. I let go and it didn't go back to the neutral position. It just sat their full throttle. I then helped the servo back into neutral position and it snapped into place. I turned RC electronics off and turned the servo by hand to see if the throttle was really bound up but it seems to be just like normal. Not really hard at all the turn.
Is this a sign of a dying or bad servo?
I have been having some issues with electronics on this car but I think this is a different problem all together.

ya sounds like its going is this the stock servo? If it is your just one of many let down by it. Remember to set EPA correctly, noticed without them set corrrectly my servo will serisouly flex the servo tray when applying breaks. Now thats too much stress on a servo. Set throttle epa (if your running a venturi inside the carb) so the slide just clears the venturi. For break, so it applies breaks to your liking.

I am not sure what "EPA" is.
Which server would you recommend to replace it? Would you recommend replacing the steering servo as well while I am at it? What servo(s) would you recommend?

EPA is end point adjustment. Basically it limits the travel your servo can travel. Turn your electronics on and turn the wheel on transmitter all the way to the left or right. Do you hear the servo making noise when its fully turned? Thats your servo trying to turn the wheels further but the wheels can't go further left or right. U can adjust it so the servo stops at the point where the wheels stop turning so your not stressingthe servo. Got me? I would recommend HITEC servos. Now for witch one is up to you. Just keep in mind with servos what U pay for is what you get.

Sorry I am pretty clueless about which servo to get could you give me a few of the standard "good" servos to replace them with?

Torque: 43 oz/in @ 4.8V, 49 oz/in @ 6V
Speed: .23 sec/60° @ 4.8V, .19 sec/60° @ 6V
Dimensions (WxLxH): 0.73" x 1.55" x 1.46"
Weight: 1.50 oz
Motor Type: 3-pole ferrite
Gears: Nylon
Spektrum Z590 for steering
Torque 85 oz/in at 6V

Obviously any of the following would be more than enough as the 7940 has almost double the torque and is twice as fast as the Z590 that is currently on it.
I'm not real sure of the difference of these servos other than the obvious speed and torque.
Other than the ~5 dollars why wouldn't I use a 7950TG over the 7955TG? The 7950TG is quicker than has more torque.

Im still not 100% sold on the new HV's....the 40's have been having failure's and the 50's seem to be a little more robust but the reason i recommend the 7955 is the fact its proven bullet proof over and over again.
IMO Fast throttle servo's are overrated and not needed...i run .15 on my throttle and it's just fine and dandy.
