Well I know I can get that for $500 at my local hobby shop, but it definitely isn't the value the RTR is, even at that price.

Also take into account the fact that the 8ight (2.0) has been around for about a year and a half, and prices tend to taper-off with time; just look at the MP9, it was $850 when it was first released. I suspect that the Durango, like any other car, will follow suit. Regardless, for the amount of options that Durango offers as standard, even at the "new" price, it still makes virtually every other manufacturer pale by comparison.

You are correct. I was just giving him the benefit of the doubt by using the ones he linked.

The bottom line is that the 8ight doesn't appear overpriced, and actually is cheaper than many of the competitors. You may prefer another model, but the 8ight isn't way off price wise, and certainly doesn't seem overpriced.

Whatever you might be seeing on your screen isn't what shows on my screen regarding pricing; I don't know how to convey that to you without some sort of direct screen capture.

Try putting the 8ight in your cart and see if you get the right price then. It is listed at $529 on my screen.

Go to 1/8th buggy kits and sub catorgorize it as highest price and see what you get. Guess he has a different screen than anybody else but it does not matter, LOSI is a very fair priced buggy.

Tried that, price remains the same. It's entirely possible that A Main may have different prices depending on peoples' IP or something. Regardless, prices can vary from one merchant to another, or someone could end up getting a good deal by other means, it's all good.

Fundamentally, I think that people will buy whatever appeals to them, for better or worse. What can't be denied however, is that the 8ight, love it or hate it, did kick Nitro buggies into a different gear with its slim chassis design, more centralized engine placement, and lighter weight. Since then, it seems like most other manufacturers have been trying to play catch-up, so right there, it shows that there was still lots of potential yet to be tapped in our cars.

If anything, the fact that there are so many companies vying for a slice of the nitro buggy pie, is in fact good for us as consumers, as it forces companies to innovate to compete.
