Can I use a rubber band as a throttle return spring??

yes.

Just makes sure it's not to strong for your servo. Have enough to get the throtle shut and thats it.

rubber bands are a good short term solution. be careful though, the band might melt on the motor, or they will get hard and brittle pretty quick and break.

your best long term solution is to use a regular return spring, or be like me and not use one at all

i always use the ruber band on my buggy and truggy but i also use the spring too.

Your brave dude. Just last week i was going WFO and the battery some how got disconected. It stop about 10 short of a creek by my house.


it could have been REALLY bad. One for that ages.

springs don't work nearly as good as bands imo.

doh! that sucks. i only run my car at the track, and theres usually people around to stop the car if something happens.

I haven't had any problems with them lasting... I assume you mean the ones for braces? They work great.

This is what i've been using for the past few years.

One end wraps around your HSN and the other around the slide arm just below the linkage. They work very good. You can make them stronger if you'd like by cutting some of the spring and bending a new end. They work just fine for me.

I use The black Goody bands...and they rarely fail(they do tho ask me how)
