Default Run time on RX Lipo

Ok I am looking for some realistic Lipo Flat pack style ( same dimensions as 1500 NIMH) for the RX..Are you guys having no problems going 2 hours without charging?

If you are planning on running 2 hours without charging I would stick with the highe mah, say 2000 or better. I personally run the 2300 lipo and can run all my practice, 3 quals at 5 to 7 min, and the run my 30 to 45 min main with no problems. after the race I check my pack and it is still at 3.9 volts per cell.

Much More makes some 2400mah Flat Pack LiPo. I have 2500mah Hump Pack LiPo in my truggy, and I have no problem with battery-life. I only charge it before the main, but that is only to be sure. I am sure I could do the main as well on 1 charge.

My NIMH RX packs are getting old and I'm thinking of switching to lipos because I already have the HV servos. We run a 2 hour endurance race here at The Nitro Pit and its my favorite race of the year. I need to be able to get 2 hours on a single charge and have my pack not drained. It needs to fit in the Xray RX box, which takes the same size as the 1700 flat pack NIMH. So I am looking to see if its possible, If I cant get 2 hours safely I'll just get new NIMH

I think you won't have a problem with a 2400 flat pack lipo. Just make sure it is freshly charged/balanced before you start the race.

X2 2400 should make it No question's asked.

Jaz ive ran my small 900's for 45min mains and it only take's roughly 600-650mah to peak back up...2hrs should be no problem.

If you decide to stay with NIMH, team helotes have a 2600mah pack that fits in the xray battery box.

I was looking at lipos for my xrays a while back too and here are some protek lipos from amain.
2300mah & 2100mah

I'm pretty confident that it would do it (Its also the biggest capacity one I've been able to find). Just depends on what your current draw is on your buggy. I would take the buggy to the track and with a full battery pack start running the car for around 30 mins (longer time will give better accuracy). Then charge the battery and see how many mah you put in. That should give you a good idea of what you'd need to get 2hr's of runtime.

Thanks for the links. I think I will do some more research. I want a clear answer that 2 hours is no problem and then I'll go Lipo..I dont want to buy the Helotes pack only to find out I cant make the 2 hours..From the replies of the other guys it seems 2 hours with the 2300 lipo pack should be no problem..I need to check those dimensions before I pull the plug

I am running a losi 2000Mah pack and it lasts all day long. After a 30 min main it only seems to take approx 300-400 mah. I run one for practice and through the quals and then switch for the main. I would hate for it to go dead the last 2 mins, I think it has enough juice but why take the chance.

yeh i was gonna jump in here and say that running an xray buggy you may have fitment problems ..based on my buddies xray and his lipo delima and finding the right size ,,,,,,,there is NO way anyone can garantee a lipo will or wont run for 2 hours ..even in this day of high mah packs for rx's ...thats just my opinion especially running high zoot hv servos ...maybe you could run a regulator just for the 2 hour race ..not sure if that would help run time or not
