Many people ran buggy & truggy when economy was great but now that people are watching their money a little closer they moved to only one class.

That one class is usually buggy at least around here & 2 simple reasons.1 truggy tires are unbelievably expensive & those expensive tires weigh more, are larger dia & are on longer arms so tend to let lesser drivers go faster over the same terain & so crash with more impact leading to slightly more damage than a lighter more compact buggy. Some can debate but its what I see.

2 People are getting recomendations to start their RC life in truggy because it takes less talent to get around the track quicker than buggy. Those new guys that can now go faster than they can cope with are crashing into too many things & those things are often the other more established racers. I & most other guys I know view truggy as a basher/hack class that is more trouble than its worth unless you race in expert or pro class. Those of us that are not fast enough to race expert in Socal are stuck getting hacked by head-ons or t-boned in every corner most of us are not willing to put up with the extra money spent on truggy if we cant get a clean race in & have fun.

A year or 2 ago truggy class was the same size or a bit larger round here but seems it has dropped by 1/2 recently.I suppose it could be all in what part of the country you live in.My truggy only comes out on play days now.
