It's all about depth perception. Ask an optometrist, they'll explain it better than I can.

I used black wheels once. Sold the tire and rim immediately.

I've got 3 complete sets, still N.I.P, I'll never use. Currently in my garage...I can't recall for sure, but I think they're Losi wheels.

Yup, and I have virtually NO depth perception. That's why I run bright colors, and run pretty much the center of the lane on the back side of the track usually. It helps me keep from hitting stuff, even if it isn't the fastest line. It is also partly why I run truggy instead of buggy- bigger is easier to see, easier to tell what it is doing.

i used to want black wheels. Till i did my first race, during practice i had some older tires on white dish wheels that were very dirty. I was bouncing off the walls all down the back straight. now i got bright yellow wing and wheels.
