Hey guys!

I haven't been on here in a while and I was wondering why they changed the coupler again! Were people having problems with to V2 couplers?

thanks

because some people dont like to maintain there cars. and they were blowing bearings apart so they fixed it with a giant bearing

some people kill me showing up with that car blowed off and fresh shocks

imo if you want the best car you got keep up with that means down to the diffs every week

i guess it depends on how much the car is run in a single day.. i go at least two race says before i tear it down to the diffs. dont get me wrong i clean it real well and inspect everything after a race. Any more then 2 days and the car starts to feel like a soup sandwich.

also when i got my kit i had to put clear grease in just about all my bearings but i didnt have any failures. i actually got about 9 races out of them

Makes sense! Thanks!

I was thinking maybe people were installing them poorly and they were binding!

interested to know. you can PM me if you like , thanks.
also i tried something tonight, steering link rods and camber link rods. the turnbuckles are very tight to turn in the plastic arms, so i tried a little Graphite powder on the turnbuckle threads and they are much easier to turn in the plastic, and once sitting for a little bit, they are still tight, but smooth to adjust camber or toe. dont know what people are using to make it easier, but the powder works a treat.

Started the build on my TE and so far so good
I have the diffs built and the rear end assembled
I like the idea of using graphite on the turnbuckles.

On that note what grease does everyone like to use for bearings?

I picked up some Eureka Lube from amain, seams like good stuff.

Oh and the building starts tonight! Woohoo can't wait. There's nothing like building a new kits with lots of goodies to go along with it!

I use Mystic JT-6 for about everything, the light amber type in a green tube. It is a very light grease that kind of liquefies when warm. Belray waterproof grease for gears though, it is tackier and doesn't sling off.

If you don't want to go out and buy graphite powder just use a builders pencil or school pencil and rub on the threads

well i just got to finnish off electrics , and motor arrives tommorow.
all has gone together very well, but i had a couple of minor issues. one brake plate was sticking, so i buffed up with the dremmel the hole of one plate, one of my diff gears was very tight on the center pin, again, a buff up fixed this inside the spider gear, on the small end, and my front body mount didnt have a screw hole. so i located it in and drilled a hole through the top steering plate as the guide. but its just about finnished, and cant wait to hear the sound of Nitro again. my neighbours will be going, on not Nitro again.

. Same here. It's been almost 4 years since I've pleasured my neighbors with the sweet sound of a Nitro car. I bet they'll be thrilled.

Might be a dumb question but what does the
option brake balancer do to the car?

I rebuild after 2 hrs of track time. If I run more then that in a day then I'll rebuild. But that's unusual in the north east.

Guess I'm lazy I rebuild my shocks and diffs after a gallon maybe more pending how the car is feeling anything more to me seems extreme but I'm no pro.
