FYI - the top of the piston and the button show signs of serious detonation for anyone that hasn't seen it before. I think he was running way too much nitro. Once you see that kind of pitting from detonation, it's pretty well toast. you already know that in the case of this engine, but a good opportunity for everyone to see what it looks like.

this was caused by a rear bearing that let go
(trx 3.3 engine)

Wow! lol Yeah, when you see big dents like that, you have some serious debris inside the engine.

One more thing I wanted to point out to people that are considering buying a used engine - notice on the picture of the crankshaft there's a section of radial scratches right where the induction port is located. That's a solid indication that the engine was run for some time without an air filter. Chances are the filter fell off the engine early during a run and he ran it out of fuel with no air filter on the engine. Another sign that you should walk away from that engine.

i fired up this engine today,

it seemed to work great didnt drive it around as i let it idle a bit on my starter box to get used to torco fuel.

but so far so good it will be a great back up in a pinch.
