truggy bearing play effects and camber adjustment
 

What are you guys doing when setting up camber on a truggy or buggy when there is the normal slop in the bearings,hubs,etc... There is between 2 to 3 degrees slop that is always there even when stuff is tight. I was told to set the tires slop to negative to take up the slop then set camber, but when you do that lets say you set the camber at 2 deg negative when you set the tires slop to negative most position before setting if you now lift up the car and the slop settles to the positive camber side the camber is now at +1 positive camber? And i noticed when the truggy is on the table and you simulate it cornering the weight or push of the vehicle makes the tire go to a more positive position. so wouldnt it be better to setup camber when tires are set in pos most position before setup?

Drop your car with a half a tank of fuel and set ride height. Once ride height is set you can adjust your camber. Just pick up and drop the car then adjust it. Don't over think it to much. When you lean your car and you see the tires move to less negative or even positive camber that is built in to the geometry of the car. That is the whole reason why we set negative camber on the tires. If we set the camber at 0* then when the car leans through a corner it may go to +3* and there would not be enough contact patch to get all the available traction.
If your bearings are sloppy then replace them before they explode and cause a DNF. If the bearings move in the hubs then replace the hubs. Slop in the links is normal and often a good thing. A tight car in off road will bind and not work properly.

2-3 degrees? That's quite a bit actually. Is it a Losi? :lol: j/k j/k (before all the fanbois jump on me.)

Check to make sure that you don't have any excessive wear or anything loose. You want to set your camber with the suspension at the normal "at rest" position... usually somewhere NEAR "arms level"
