It handles better, and is more durable. Thats about it. I plan on getting a couple of those new upgrades for me RC8E

Thanks for the quick response tomtom. The one i am thinking of getting already has the big bore shocks on it. Along with king headz shock towers (are those any good?). And some other stuff done. Along with quite a few parts for $300. That a good price?

If you have the old RC8 shocks, then yea the FT big bores would be nice.
I only plan on doing...
RC8B FT Top Plate
RC8B Front/Rear shock towers
RC8B suspension plates
FT Aluminum Chassis Braces.
Yea, they are all more durable parts, but i also like the bling. LOL

Just buy the new car, so much has been changed around and it drivers so much better. Also most of the plastic material has been changed for better durability, so up grading just a few parts wont make the the huge difference.

The King Headz towers are not the same as the AE towers. The new AE towers have many more spots to mount the shock and the camber link. Their probably the most important component of the change to the rc8b besides the big bores.
There are a few running changes in parts that are not on that list. The front and rear arms are changed, the shock shafts and ends, and I noticed last night the steering ends have been changed too.
Ive been in the process of rebuilding and converting mine over and its almost a complete rebuild of the car. The new parts are sweet. I also added the machined hubs front and rear and the aluminum stub axles. I cant wait to get it on the track this weekend.

like some have said just get the new rc8b I have both
the rc8 with all the mods and all the parts that king headz
make for it the rc8b is hands down a better car right out of the
box I have 8 races and 3 practise days on it and have not broke
a part I did bend up a lower a arm on a flying off the track in to
4x4 post at WFO
but drove back to get 4 in that main the
old car (rc8) would not have got back in to the race after a crash like that
the rc8 with all the mods and all the parts that king headz
make for it the rc8b is hands down a better car right out of the
box I have 8 races and 3 practise days on it and have not broke

Yes you can upgrade later. The diffs are the same so no worries there.

If money is tight an RC8 RTR for $375 is extremely tempting. Just make sure all the metal arm carriers have extra washers to hold the hinge pins in. And if the track you'll be racing at has big jumps, the aluminum top plate would be the first thing I would upgrade.
But without question the Losi 8ight 2.0 RTR is the best bang for your buck if you are starting from scratch. I've seen them as low as $600 with DX3S radio and a starter box.
I prefer AE but if I had nothing to start with, I would get the Losi.

375 does sound pretty good. but then there is another 250 for a reedy motor because .28 are not legal in buggy class. And of course you need a 1 piece pipe to make any power with an motor, so that's another 80 bucks. Then there are the servos. RTR crap, so now you have 180 out for both servos, and lets not forget the biggest NO NO. An AM radio with nitro. That by far is the worst idea ever, so now you have another 200 out for a radio.

It worked great and I never had any problems, nor did I break anything. Also, almost any club track will let you run the stock engine even though it's bigger than a 21, since it came with the RTR and gives you no advantage over a 21 anyway.
The radio was also never a problem, since everyone else is on 2.4ghz anyway, there was never an issue with conflicting frequencies.
If you want to give 1/8 racing a shot, but don't want to jump in with a huge initial investment, an RC8 RTR for $375 is a killer deal.

buy the new car
i just got my new rc8b a couple of weeks ago, and i was a diehard losi fan for years. This car is awesome, handles great out of the box and is really durable, get the new car you will not regret it.
