how much would you spend on a SC8 just to convert it to a SC8E
Basically I want a SC8E but my hobby shop has a sc8 nitro on sale. What would be a decent price to buy the sc8 for just to be ending up making it electric? Are there any other differences between the sc8 and sc8e other than the sc8e comes with big bore shocks, and that the sc8 gets a cool looking painted body.

Tower sells the SC8E for $399. Add the $60.00 coupon code and it's $339 shipped.
If you can do better than that, go for it. If you buy the Nitro, you get the E-conversion free from AE. Sell the nitro stuff off the truck and it might be a better deal.
