Cold engine temps???
Hello,
Iam running my buggy with a OS VZB in it. The outside temps are as such that the motor will only get to about 180 to 200deg.
Is that hard on it? It is broke in though.
Thanks.

rap you head in tin foil or with a 1/10 scale tire foam to keep the temps up.

When its that cold that the engine can't get up to temp 180 is kinda bad. I would run a rag folded over once and cut to size to fit 1/2 to 1/3 over the front of the engine and zip tie it on there to keep the temps normal.

i would lean it out until it is running about 220-230 running to cold will hut your con if you dont want to lean it get some alluminum tape and put it around your head

Is it running good at those temps?
Tune to power. If it's running rich at 180-200 lean it out a bit. Outside ambient temp will effect the tune, but if it's running with usual power and just the temps are lower than normal I personally wouldn't worry about it.
Leaning it out will not only raise the temp, but will reduce lubrication. Not always a good thing. Some engines (GRP for example) run all day at 180-190 deg and does not hurt the conrod.
Just my $.02 .
