So I have been holding out to do some research on which hex set will serve me the best. I have it narrowed down to:

1. Hudy - Expensive, but I have heard nothing but pros about them
2. EDS - They look real nice, but also pricey and I have not heard any reviews
3. RC Pro - Cheap, but look pretty decent. Again not many reviews that I have seen.

Anyone have opinions on these 3 sets? Or maybe another set I overlooked and would be better? I'm looking mainly for a set that is durable, rebuildable, made well, and has a longer shaft than the Losi Tools that I have now.

I got the Hudy Basic set to get me started on my tool collection. It had most of everything i needed to build a kit and the quality is really good.
Only thing I would change is that I wish the hex handles were of the same size of the 2.5mm. The 2.0mm and 1.5mm handles are small for my taste and after a while your hand can get tired from these small handles.

the EDS basically are the Hudy tools. I have a full set of hudy tools and if i was to start over, i would get the new proline tools. I have a 2.0 ball end in my pit bag for my tuning screws. Since thats what the reedy motors use.

the prolines are nice but they wear really fast and start to strip. I went to hudy and wont look back

I've had an almost full hudy set since 1999 - wonderful, especially some of the specialty tools like the 5.8mm flat novarossi-special one.

After 10 years, I bought a few powertool tips from EDS this spring... believe it or not they're even better (and in most cases, less expensive) than the Hudy, the fit is better and the alloy feels harder. I recently stripped (can't complain after 10yrs of intense use I guess) my 2.0mm hex tip from Hudy, I'll keep the handle (there's my alias on them ) and replace the tip with EDS.

I've had a couple of integy's too, they look and feel a lot like the MIP, ie great.

Topcad is cheapo-shitto.

Ed's look and feel great. I like them way more then my aluminum dynamite's, and Losi hexes. So far they're just as sturdy too. Plus you can get your name engraved in them

this has to be my favorite thread there is only one brand
to get if you want quality and a long lasting tool
and that is HUDY every thing is compared to or said
to be just as good as a HUDY TOOLS but there not
get the HUDY tools you want regret it

I have the duratrax set. Good handles. When the tips wear out I replace with Hudy tips. Some times I might have to drill the handles to get the tips to fit.

The only metric wrench of the bunch I use is 1.5mm. Everything else on my cars (metric) seems to work better with SAE bits.

EDS is pretty good. to be honest I dont use the wrenchs much any more, I hate that I spent that much on the EDS tools................ I just use the lithium drill with hex bits. do you know how much faster that it

also what I believed too... been using Hudy tools and lathes since last century and way before they became "hype"... and I tried EDS stuff this year. Well, EDS does it at least just as well, typically for less money

+1 on hudy here and I have wasted money and tried them all, losi, proline, dynamite, team magic, hard carbon fiber. Hudy takes the win home. The hudy set is the best set I have ever owned. The team magic were pretty good too. I like the nice proline handles but the tips suck the 1/4 hex was the wrong size from day one. Do yourself a favor and spend the money once get a good hudy set and be done with it.

I just bought a full set of the EDS tools and really like them. Much better than the dynamite I was using.
