Hi i have a standard controller and reciever set in my car but it seems to have heaps of glittches. I am wondering what is the spectrum remote? How does it work?
Is it like a digital signal?
Also if i change to one of these controllers do i have to change to digital servos?

Tony,

Spektrum (trademark name) or spectrum is 2.4 ghz spread spectrum. It is what is used for (newer) cordless phones and for wireless networking for computers. The transmitter and receiver are paired or "married" so there isn't any frequency conflict. No, you don't HAVE to change to digital servos... but they are better.

Your glitches may or may not have to do with the type of radio you are using. Can you be more specific?

When does it glitch? Just on the bench or on the track too. You can try wrapping the reciever with foam rubber. Also check the servo and battery wires and make sure there is not a bare spot that is rubbing on metal somewhere. I had a bad glitching and a bare wire was the cause. Alsoo what servos are you using if they are jr then they are just dong th jr jitters on the bench but on the track they should be fine.

another plus to the 2.4 is that while being paired (RX&TX) the radios system is "suppose" to reject all other radio interference. you dont have to worry about someone jumping on your frequency

Anytime there is metal on metal that can vibrate and resonate it can cause interference with AM and FM radios. Its mainly when you still have your buggy on the starter box. I use FM still and depending on how it's sitting on the box, it sometimes looks like my buggy is having a seizure, take it off the box and it's fine. Just make sure you don't have any metal on the buggy vibrating.

When I adjust my high end needle, my M8 glitches.

FM and metal to metal is not happy. Those ESC fans hypnotize my Rx.

Now if you buy a 3 channel radio do you have to run 3 servos or can you still just run 2?

U don't need to use the third channel. But it can come handy when you have a free channel.
