Default Traxxas Slayer ground wire issues

I have a Traxxas Slayer with a strange problem. Sometimes when running the screw that hold my ground wire comes loose making the car impossible to start. But that is not the problem, the problem is when I tighten the screw too tight and try to start it the glow plug light on the starter does not come on and the car does not start.

But when I loosen it, the light comes on and the car starts. Is this a wire issue or an issue with the screw itself? I always thought that tighter was better. Can anyone give me some info?
