I still think that it will not be great on fuel. I waiting for the first person so say the get 27 min per tank.

It will still hold to much power for most tracks.... I will stick with my .21......

I ran the .28 and know lots of guys that run OS .28xz . and we all pit at 7 mins.

Like I said, I dont to see it to believe it... No offense but I have heard all kinds of stories about OS engines, and thats all I run. Under race conditions, not practicing on a track, but racing to win. I have NEVER seen anyone get 9 min on a OS 28 actually on any .28s

Make a trip out I'll be very happy to show 9 mins better yet pull the extreme issue with the Z01t cover test result 8-9 min consistent.

My modified OS 28 went over 10 minutes in my 5T at the 2008 Canadian Winter nationals....... However under different conditions the very same engine needed to pit at 7 minutes.... At the nationals the track was slick, I used a low engagement clutch and because I had soo much power i ended up tuning it fairly lean and driving around at part throttle...It wasn't really running lean at the pace I was driving, but it would be too lean somewhere that i could open the engine up...the nationals track was so slick that i barely touched the throttle.....At my home track we have a loamy dirt surface and I can actually open the engine up and use the power and as a result the runtimes dropped dramatically ..... I am not the type to start bragging up false runtimes, but I have legitimately seen a OS 28 get over 10 minutes, but of course under the right conditions...No two ways about it, if your on the throttle a properly tuned OS 28 is not going to get 10 minutes runtime...

Very true statement thats for every mill must say Ive owned many 28's but the 28xz has one of the best run times for a BB.

Thanks for the reply Mat, my only worry is run times and wheelies/spinning, where these problems for you??? I dont think there is anyone at my track that runs anything bigger than a .21 on a truggy, im going to be the first, and i dont want to get a engine that I wont be able to use because of the extra power. How does the top end power compare to the vspec and ninja, does it rev as high?? does it outrun them??

Hey Guy's

I too am stuck between running a .21 in my Team losi 8T 2.0 or purchasing one of these os .25 motors.

I have a bnib Team Orion Mike Truhe Ed. motor and pipe combo that I purchased for my truggy from my up coming state titles. I have never ran a team orion motor but with os speed motors I have been running, to get enough power to get the truggy out of corners and doing technical jump sections, I have needed to run big inserts like 8mm.

I'm wondering if with this os .25 motor where it obviously has alot more torquethan any .21 motor could produce, I think you could get away with running smaller inserts.

I'm ondering whether running a:
4 cylinder flat chat or a v8 just ticking over
(.21 with 8mm) (.25 with 6.5mm)

Which one would use less fuel and be working less hard to get the truggy motoring around the track.
Thanks for your thoughts.

So guys, any updates on this engine? For the ones that have run it, what should I expect, and what is the engine like on top rpm, does it rev high, do the fast .21 leave it behind on the straight??

I just ordered one ;-b

to much power it's all about the .21's for me the way I drive(aggressive outta corners) I could never run a .25. but I am interested to see how well the they perform I am certain once they become more readily available someone in my area will have one.
