What .21 engine for 8ight 2.0?
I just got done breaking in my 2.0 RTR and Im already thinking about what engine to get for xmas!
Well anyways, I want to get a new engine as soon as I can afford it so that Ill have it for when I need it. I want to spend about $200-250 on the engine. Is the Werks Racing Team Line B5 .21 Off-Road Competition Buggy Engine a decent one to think about getting? Any others you would recommend? |
Can never go wrong with an OS v-spec. Enough power to be highly competitive in buggy or truggy, holds a tune like a vise, and lasts a long time! Best motor for the money IMHO.

+1 on the vspec for the money! Easiest high end motor to tune IMO.

Novarossi Plus 4 is a great motor. The price will most likely fall even more once the new Novarossi 21-4C comes out.

+2 on the vspec! we're talkin nasty power!
i run the speed version vzb. try a 2050,2060,2041ebmods pipe[thats what i run], or a jp3 |
The weks B5 sounds like a good motor. I dont have one but it will be the next one i get. I've owned a B3 and the B7 now, loved them both. The B5 has great power with 10 + minute run times and its only $199 ! Read through the thread and you'll see some of the best customer service every from Werks. That part is what really sold me on it. Most of the motors now put out more power than you really need, so it just a mater of picking how much you want to speed, or what bragging right you want to put in your sig.

+ Another one for the V spec we just run one in and was well impressed we normally run the Hara speed but needed a new clubby after the original Mag head speed decided to go to the big blue sky......

I run an os speed in both my buggy and truggy. The speed is pricy but it is the fastest thing I have seen on the track. You cant go wrong with a vspec either.

You'll get several opinions, but in your price range several manufactures are starting to see this is going to be a big segment in RC nitro engines and are coming out with several really good $200 engines. The two that catch my eyes the most are the new B5 and the new Jammin Plus. I think either would be a great buy at 200ish, but I lean towards the Jammin Plus because I'm a huge Picco fan (Picco manufactures the motor for Jammin) and think they are hugely under rated and under used.
