Mugen MBX6 Question
Does the MBX6 have a special shaft collar and clutch bell?
I am using a universal shaft collar and a losi clutch bell and the clutch bell doesn't seem to mesh right with the spur gear. The clutch bell teeth are too far forward to mesh. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Mugen is standard, the Losi clutch bell is your problem
Get one from any other brand besides Kyosho and you should be fine.

keep in mind different cluch bells have different shapes... and require very different shimming (both behind the flywheel, between the nut and the bell, and outside of the bell).
To make matters more complex, different motors (even within the same brand) have cranks that stick out of the case in different dimensions. My Plus4 and my Toro Nero's cranks differ by about half a millimiter, which is enough to require two completely different "shimming" setups.
in most cases when you mix brands you can make it work - sometimes you can't

The Losi clutch bell is the odd ball because they had to make it longer to fit in the bigger inside bearing.

+1 The best thing about MBX6's and RcTech is that all the information is in one place, or was until these threads started popping up. Everyone responding to your questions frequent the MBX6 thread so please use the MBX6 thread and help keep the forum less cluttered.
